This past month has been all about soaking up the spring weather! Some days I'm taking walks on Harborside in the sunshine blasting music in my AirPods, while other days, I've cozied up on the couch in PJs watching TV while the rain falls. But, no matter what it looks like outside, spring has always been one of my favorite seasons. I love it because it's a reminder that there can be new beginnings, and I find inspiration in its newness.
This spring inspired me to start a new blog series highlighting my monthly favorites. These faves can be anything I have grown to love and want to share with you to love, too, maybe! I'm also always on the hunt for recommendations, so feel free to DM me or email me at aestheticallygalveston@gmail.com with your monthly favorites.

Coast + Salt
This fragrance brand is IBC woman owned! The brand was born because she had to move away from the island but missed her coastal home. All Coast + Salt's scents are meant to bring the beach to you, no matter where you're located! They offer candles, perfume rollers, lotion, soap, and wax melts. Their products make the perfect gift, especially for upcoming Mother's Day.
One of my friends smelled the candle, and her immediate reaction was, "This is a vacation in a candle." I couldn't agree more because they seriously smell SO fresh! The perfume roller is the perfect size because I can easily slip it into my purse or beach bag. The lotion bar has been a lifesaver by moisturizing my skin after a long day at the beach, thanks to the exfoliating coastline sand. So far, I have only tried the Isle scent, but I've gotten so many DMs from friends saying they like Cabana because it smells similar to a pina colada. So that scent is next on my list to order!

Fashion Pass
In 2021, I chose to try to be more environmentally friendly. When I talked to Emily Ellis of Galveston's Consciousness Clothing, she educated me on fast fashion's negative impact on our world. So to take a step closer to reaching my goal, I signed up for the clothing rental company Fashion Pass.
What makes Fashion Pass different from competitors is that they allow unlimited monthly rentals! All you do is select your plan, pay a flat monthly fee, and shop their stylish clothes and accessories selection. Then, when you're ready for new clothes, you send back all your rentals in the pre-paid / labeled shipping bag and send it back! In addition, you can earn credit by rating your rentals on their website to help other members see how the outfit looks on different body shapes and sizes. Plus, Fashion Pass has the BEST customer service! All I did was text a phone number and get a response within an hour. So, if you love a rotating closet and feel wasteful throwing out or donating clothes every season, you should definitely check out Fashion Pass!

The Eras Tour
Don't Blame Me (iykyk)...but I went to see Taylor Swift twice, once in Arlington and a second time in Houston. In Arlington, I bought a last-minute ticket and sat in the nosebleeds seat. But OMG, it was still a BLAST! Seeing the stage and special effects from above was incredible. Plus, leading up to the Arlington Show, I ran a giveaway with St. Gemma Properties and The Basic Blogger Bitch to give a lucky follower a chance to see Taylor. I'm extremely grateful for the partnership and friendship that came out of that giveaway because Alex is literally the sweetest! We got to meet up at the Arlington show. If you want to see our TikTok video together, click here.
Houston was THE show I waited 8 hours to get tickets for (thanks, Ticketmaster). A friend and I were super fortunate to get floor VIP seats! Literally, it was one of the best nights I've ever had! We danced the ENTIRE time; some may even say we were "too busy dancing to get knocked off our feet." :) My outfit top was custom-made by a friend that lives here on the island! My vision was to design a top that replicated the elevator buttons from the Bejeweled music video. She executed the idea perfectly!
I literally haven't stopped listening to Taylor's music since the show. If any of you are Swifties, let me know! Can we have an AG Listening party somewhere when she releases a new album?

Multicolored Manicure
Okay, I promise not everything is Taylor Swift related, but I was inspired by her Eras nails. That is why I had to get mine done just like them. The manicurist wasn't too thrilled, but I thought they turned out super cute. My friend Rachel has a photography business, Rachel Eb Photography, so she shot some pics of me outside MOD Coffeehouse that turned showcased my manicure perfectly! Huge shout out to her.

Condesa Gin Prickly Pear & Orange Blossom
This past month my husband has been off of school so we have been having many date nights. One of our favorite things to do is order some take out, watch a TV show (recently Ted Lasso), and make new cocktail recipes. Gin has been our liquor of choice in April. We found this brand at Galveston's Spec's. The bottle is beautiful and it tastes just as good as it looks. I know I promised not all content would be based on Taylor Swift...but here we are again because our recipe of choice is the Lavender Haze (gin, tonic water, splash of lemonade, lavender syrup, and garnish with lime and dried lavender). Highly recommend trying out this brand of gin + you can make a cute vase, soap dispenser, etc. out of the pretty bottle.

1883
I'm a big TV girlie. I have shows I put in the background when I work but I also have some I reserve to sit down and watch with my husband each night. One of those TV series we binge is Yellowstone (like the rest of the world). Though we were a little late to the game we have been watching their prequel series, 1883 and 1923. While both are incredible, 1883 was the storyline that stuck with me the most. I find it incredible that people used to actually live like that. I don't think I'd last 4 hours in 1883...ha! But seriously, if you can watch this show I highly recommend. But have some tissues next you. You'll need them.

Peloton App
Recently I switched from doing CrossFit to going to a more traditional type of gym. However, one thing I've missed is my workouts being programmed. That's why I have started using the Peloton App! I've been using their treadmill and core workouts almost everyday. When I first started I ran for 20 minutes, but I have worked my way up to 30 and 45 minute runs! Though, I've owned a bike for about two years now, know you don't have to own a bike to use the app. You can get the app for $12.99 a month or a 30 day free trial; however, students can get a discount. If you want guided or pre-made workouts for a good price, I think you should check out the Peloton App! I've lost 12 pounds in 4 months by doing their workouts + eating healthier!

Clinique Moisture Surge
I've always struggled with dry skin. I've had eczema since I was a little kid. Now, living in a coastal climate can really irritate it. The Clinique Moisture Surge is BY FAR my favorite skincare product! It has changed the game for my face. It seriously brings a glow to my face. I get compliments ALL the time. While it can be a little costly, I promise it is worth it! A little goes a long way so it will last you quite a while.
